The Kazza - Above Rooftop

ABOVE is Brisbane’s ultimate rooftop destination. An all-day oasis that transforms from a relaxed poolside lounge to an elevated evening experience. Inspired by the rooftop bars of Beirut yet grounded in the casual comfort of the Fortitude Valley, it’s a place that welcomes creatives, weekend wanderers, date-night duos, and the cool neighbours.

The Gig

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

• Assisting in menu planning, implementation, and execution
• Controlling food preparation and managing wastage for your section
• Leading by example as a hands-on-chef with excellent quality assurance and standards
• Assisting in the development through innovative and original menu planning and maintenance of high food standards
• Establishing and maintaining effective employee working relationships at all times
• You will enjoy being on tools and bringing our creations to life
• Bring your on-trend ideas, new dishes, new concepts and new menus to make our food offering the best in the area
• Good knowledge of WHS, food hygiene and efficient kitchen processes
• Your team thinks you're absolutely fabulous and you LOVE to train your peeps
• You work fantastically under pressure, are cucumber cool and a natural-born leader who gets things done
• You love the face-to-face guest experience and LOVE getting to know your guests

About you

This is a full-time position. As our CDP Chef, you will thrive on the pressure of the Kitchen, understanding that mise en place and teamwork are key to a successful service. You will continuously strive for perfection in every dish, always ensuring consistency and balance. You will ideally have a minimum of 4 years' work experience at a CDP level or Senior Demi Chef, looking to take the next step in your career.
