About the role
Brisbane Abrasive Blasting is a well-established abrasive blasting and protective coatings family owned business with a wide array of clients from the mining, manufacturing, defence, oil and gas and construction industries.
We are currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as an entry level quality control administrator.
You will learn to monitor environmental conditions, inspect surface preparation, and use specialized testing gear to ensure our paint and protective coatings meet strict specification standards.
Reports directly to the Administration Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Completing QA paperwork
Environmental logging-measure and record air temperature, relative humidity and dew points
Visual defects checks—inspect for runs, sags, blistering, pinholes, dry spray or missed spots
Using gauges to record wet and dry film thicknesses in accordance with the specification
Marking jobs for rectification.
Stores and Inventory Management
Manage the ordering, receipt, storage, and issuance of paint and consumables
Occasional general administration duties
What We Offer:
On the job training covering coating technology and inspection methods
Industry Certification: fully funded pathway to achieve globally recognised AMPP (NACE) Coating Inspector (CIP Level 1)
$80,000/year plus superannuation
Requirements for Successful Applicant:
Be highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
Have excellent communication and written skills
Be computer savvy with solid maths skills
Be a reliable team member
Have a can-do attitude and a desire to learn
Be comfortable working in a physically demanding, fast paced industrial environment.
Work hours are Monday-Thursday 6:30am -3:00pm and Fridays 6:30am-12:30pm.
