About Us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the 'Courts Group'.

The Supreme Court of Victoria is the highest court in Victoria and comprises the Court of Appeal and the Trial Division. The Court deals with major criminal and civil matters, plus appeals against decisions of lower courts.

About the role
The Supreme Court of Victoria is seeking a motivated and detail oriented professional to join the Probate Office as a Probate Examiner.
This role offers a unique opportunity to exercise delegated judicial power of the Supreme Court of Victoria, determine applications for grants of probate and administration, and assist court users to navigate probate processes in the Court's highest volume jurisdiction.
Key accountabilities:
Examining applications for grants of probate and administration and exercising delegated judicial powers to determine whether orders of the Court should be made.Undertaking the Probate Office's small estates service, including taking instructions from clients and preparing applications for probate and administration.Providing authoritative procedural guidance to court users and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including enhancements to RedCrest‑Probate.
About You
An individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and apply legislation, rules and procedural requirements. Experience in succession law, probate practice or a court environment is highly regarded.A confident communicator capable of explaining legal and procedural concepts clearly and sensitively to a broad range of court users.A professional who demonstrates sound judgement, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes in a legal or regulatory environment.
