About the role
Polaris Engineering is seeking an experienced Schedular to join our team on a full-time basis in West Perth, WA 6005. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and optimising project schedules across our fabrication and construction operations. As a Schedular, you will play a critical role in ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget, providing essential planning and scheduling support to project managers, site teams and senior stakeholders. Your expertise in construction scheduling will directly impact project success and operational efficiency across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
Develop comprehensive project schedules using Microsoft project and industry-standard scheduling software, incorporating all phases of construction projects from initial planning through to completion
Maintain and update project schedules on a regular basis, ensuring they accurately reflect project progress and any changes to scope, resources or timelines
Identify scheduling risks and critical path items, providing recommendations to project teams to mitigate delays and optimise resource allocation
Liaise with project managers, site supervisors and trades to gather accurate information on work progress, sequencing requirements and resource availability
Perform schedule analysis including trend analysis, earned value management and variance reporting to support informed decision-making
Produce schedule reports and presentations for project stakeholders, communicating complex scheduling information in clear and accessible formats
Ensure compliance with contractual scheduling requirements and industry best practice standards
Support project planning activities including resource forecasting, cost integration and risk identification
Collaborate with other schedulers and planning professionals to maintain consistency across multiple concurrent projects
What we're looking for
Relevant qualifications in mechanical, civil, or structural engineering, heavy fabrication, construction science, project management, or a related discipline
Proven experience as a Schedular or in a construction planning and scheduling role, preferably within a busy construction environment
Proficiency in industry-standard scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or equivalent tools
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies and project delivery approaches
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify scheduling conflicts and develop practical solutions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders
Meticulous attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple project schedules simultaneously
Knowledge of contract conditions and scheduling requirements within construction contracts
Experience with earned value management and advanced scheduling techniques is advantageous
