Estimator – Cooling Division

Job Summary

Absolute Enterprises is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Cooling Division in Paget.

This is a hands-on, workshop-facing role responsible for inspecting, scoping, costing and quoting repairs on heavy mining and industrial cooling components.We are looking for someone with real technical understanding—ideally a radiator technician, mechanical tradesperson, or workshop supervisor—who can turn inspection findings into clear, accurate and commercially sound repair scopes.This is not a desk-only estimating role. You will work closely with customers and workshop teams to assess component condition, define repair requirements, and ensure fully scoped, approved work is handed over correctly.

About the Role

You will own the estimating process from initial enquiry through to workshop handover.This includes inspecting components, reviewing test results, identifying damage, and preparing complete repair scopes and quotations.Once approved, you will ensure the workshop receives a clear, accurate job pack covering scope, costs, quality requirements and turnaround expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review customer enquiries, assets and turnaround requirements

• Inspect radiators, coolers, heat exchangers and related components

• Assess condition after cleaning, stripping and pressure testing

• Work with workshop staff to define repair requirements

• Identify damage, wear, corrosion and failure points

• Prepare clear repair scopes and cost breakdowns

• Quote labour, materials, cores, parts, subcontract and freight

• Present repair options (repair, re-core, replace, service exchange)

• Source pricing and lead times from suppliers

• Issue accurate quotations with clear inclusions and assumptions

• Follow up quotes and manage approvals

• Convert approved quotes into complete workshop job packs

• Communicate scope clearly to supervisors and trades

• Manage variations and obtain approval before extra work proceeds

• Keep customers updated on scope, cost and timing changes

• Support WIP reviews and workshop prioritisation

• Maintain accurate records in company systems

• Contribute to improving estimating accuracy and workflow efficiency

About You

You will ideally have:

• Experience in radiator repair, mechanical fitting, diesel fitting or similar

• Exposure to estimating or workshop job scoping

• Strong understanding of cooling systems (radiators, oil coolers, heat exchangers)

• Ability to assess damaged components and define repair solutions

• Good commercial awareness of labour and material costs

• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications

• Strong communication and customer interaction skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to manage multiple jobs and deadlines

• Strong computer skills (ERP, estimating systems, MS Office)

• A practical, problem-solving mindset

• Current driver’s licence

Experience with mining equipment (Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr) is highly regarded.
