Head Waiter/Waitress – French Bistro

We are looking for an experienced Head Waiter/Waitress with experience in fine dining and a strong knowledge of service and wine.

Madeleine is a French bistro, open Wednesday to Sunday on Beaufort Street.

Our vision is to use the best local and French produce, working closely with small butchers, bakeries, growers, honey producers and other local suppliers to find the best ingredients and make the produce the star — the foundation of French cuisine.

But to create a memorable experience, you must provide exceptional service from start to finish. We pride ourselves on providing an incredible level of service in a casual, welcoming bistro atmosphere.

Skills & Experience Required

• At least 3 years of experience in restaurants (fine dining preferred)

• Ability to multitask and be a strong team player

• Excellent communication skills and fluent English

• Strong knowledge of wine and restaurant service

• Valid RSA or Manager's Liquor Licence

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure

• Passion for hospitality and creating memorable experiences

• Genuine passion for food, wine and coffee

• A positive attitude and pride in what you do

Most importantly, you must have a genuine passion for food, wine and coffee and love what you do.

What We Offer

• 30–40 hours per week for the right person

• Casual position with penalty rates and weekend rates

• Opportunity to grow and develop within the company and the group

• Sponsorship may be available for the right candidate, depending on experience, skills and eligibility
