Waiter

Bistro Thierry, one of Melbourne's renowned French restaurants is looking for an experienced and passionate Waiter to join our team.

About the role

We are seeking a professional, experienced Waiter with excellent knowledge of French cuisine and wine to join our team. We offer excellent renumeration along with a gratuities programme of a net minimum $100 per shift. As a Waiter, you will be the face of our establishment, responsible for providing outstanding service to our guests while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting guests warmly and seating them at appropriately assigned tables

• Presenting menus and providing knowledgeable recommendations about our cuisine, wines and beverages

• Liaising with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation and delivery of orders

• Clearing tables promptly and maintaining cleanliness throughout the dining area

• Processing payments and handling cash or card transactions with accuracy

• Maintaining impeccable personal appearance and adhering to the bistro's dress code

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a waiter in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment

• Excellent knowledge of French cuisine and wine

• French speaking a definite advantage

• Meticulous attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively during busy service periods

• Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and restaurant management software

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

• Team-oriented mindset with ability to work collaboratively with front and back-of-house staff
