HSE Advisor x 2

Gooring Jimbila Contracting are looking for a motivated HSE advisor for a temporary role (6 months).

We are a Traditional Owner Business. We have work at Argyle Diamond Mine Rehabilitation Project. We run two contracts, the Balance of Landforms and General Site Services all taken care of by the one site team.

Balance of Landforms - Reshaping of landforms back to natural shape using earthmoving equipment, then ripping and seeding.

General Site Services - Care and maintenance of facilities. Electrical, plumbing, grading of roadways, minor roadworks, effluent and waste removal. LV/HV workshop and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Risk Management

Conduct site risk assessments, JHAs, SWMS reviews, and task observations.

Support incident investigations using ICAM or equivalent methodology.

Monitor corrective actions to full close-out.

Site Inspections & Audits

Perform routine HSE inspections and audits of work areas, plant, equipment, and subcontractors.

Participate in client audits and support the preparation of audit documentation.

Monitor environmental compliance including waste, emissions, spills, and land disturbance.

Training & Competency

Deliver toolbox talks, HSE inductions, and targeted safety campaigns.

Verify competencies and VOCs for employees and subcontractors.

Promote continual improvement and behavioural safety initiatives.

Reporting

Compile and submit daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports.

Record hazards, incidents, observations, and inspections using Ironstone’s reporting systems.

Analyse trends and recommend improvements to site leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years HSE experience in mining, construction, civil works, or resources projects.

• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or higher).

• Strong knowledge of WA WHS Act & Regulations.

• Demonstrated experience conducting audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.

• Ability to influence safe behaviours and engage a diverse workforce.

• Valid C-Class unencumbered Driver’s Licence.

• Ability to pass pre-employment medical & drug/alcohol testing.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address safety concerns and resolve conflicts effectively.

• Rio Tinto experience desirable

Desirable

• ICAM Lead Investigator certification.

• Cert IV Training & Assessment (TAE40116).

• Experience working with or supporting Indigenous workforces.
