Merino Café is located in the historic London House, 62 Yass Street Gunning. Located approximately 45 minutes from Canberra, 25 minutes from Goulburn, Yass and Crookwell.

For over 19 years our busy café has enjoyed a reputation of being a highly regarded destination point for our local community and visitors along the highway from QLD, the ACT, Sydney and Melbourne.  Our focus is on the consistency of our homemade country meals, coffee and cold beverages. Our café is widely recognized for our broad range of house baked cakes, slices and sweet treats.

We enjoy an established and committed long term work team who have dedicated years of service to build the high reputation our café enjoys today.

 We are currently seeking a hospitality professional to join our team.

Job tasks and responsibilities:

This is a “All Rounder” position that requires adaptability and the skill to handle multiple responsibilities.

• At all times maintain a high level of professionalism

• Barista skills

• Opening and closing procedures

• Overseeing junior staff, training and mentorship

• Customer service

• Serving food and beverages

• Food preparation

• Assist in baking of our full range of cakes and slices

• Work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

Job benefits:

• This is a full time position with a three month probation period

• Minimum 38 hours per week with overtime paid every hour after

• Overtime paid 150% of the ordinary hourly rate for the first two hours of overtime then 200% for the rest of the overtime

• Additional $5000 per year bonus travel allowance, paid weekly

• Staff meals

The successful candidate will demonstrate a calm and professional attitude to colleagues and customers alike, be able to work well under pressure and multitask.
