Langford Support Services is recruiting multiple experienced Casual Disability Support Workers to join our Community Access casual pool.

We are seeking capable, reliable and proactive support workers who are confident working independently in community settings and supporting people with a range of disability, complex health and behavioural support needs.

This recruitment campaign is specifically for our Community Access service, with current and upcoming roster vacancies across the Hobart area.

Fast-Track Recruitment – Invitation-Only Interview Day

As part of this recruitment campaign, Langford will be holding a Fast-Track Interview Day on Wednesday, 2 September 2026.

Attendance is strictly by invitation only.

How the Process Works

2.Shortlisted applicants will receive a pre-screening phone call from our team to discuss experience, compliance requirements and shift availability.
3.Applicants who meet our initial requirements may be invited to attend our Interview Day on Wednesday, 2 September 2026.
4.Successful invitees will receive confirmation of their allocated interview time and venue details.

Your Role & Responsibilities:

As a Community Access Disability Support Worker, you will support participants to maintain independence, engage with their community and achieve goals that are meaningful to them. This position is ideal for professionals who are flexible, resilient and dedicated to making a meaningful impact. Please note that being part of the casual pool does not guarantee ongoing or regular work. Your responsibilities may include:

• Provide person-centred support to participants in the community

• Assist with daily living skills, recreational and social activities

• Uphold participants’ rights, independence and dignity

• Supporting participants with complex health and behavioural needs in accordance with their individual support plans.

• Promoting participant choice, control, dignity, rights and independence.

• Working independently and using sound judgement and problem-solving skills.

• Responding appropriately to changing situations and participant needs.

• Maintaining clear, accurate and timely progress notes and other required documentation.

• Completing participant-specific compliance and training requirements.

• Attending mandatory training, meetings and professional development activities.
  

Availability and Shift Requirements

Community Access shifts vary according to participant needs.

Applicants should have good flexibility across morning, daytime and evening shifts, with shifts generally ranging from the minimum two-hour engagement up to approximately eight hours.

Current shift patterns may include:

• Early morning shifts commencing around 7:00am

• Daytime shifts

• Afternoon and evening shifts

• Short shifts of approximately 2–3 hours

• Longer shifts of up to approximately 8 hours

• Some evening shifts finishing around 9:30pm

Applicants will be asked to provide their consistent ongoing availability in writing as part of the recruitment process.

Occasional opportunities may also become available within respite services, including sleepover shifts, subject to operational requirements, participant needs and separate assessment of the employee's suitability and compliance.

Please note: Recruitment through this campaign is specifically for the Community Access casual pool. Appointment to Community Access does not provide automatic eligibility for, or transfer into, Langford's Supported Independent Living (SIL) service. Any opportunity to work across another service will be considered separately by People & Culture and Service Delivery based on operational need, suitability, training and compliance requirements.

As this is a casual pool, employment does not guarantee a minimum number of hours or regular ongoing shifts. Shift allocation will depend on participant requirements, compatibility, availability, compliance and operational needs.

 Qualifications & Requirements:

• Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services or a related field (or willingness to obtain).

• Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (NDIS endorsed).

• Current National Police Check (within the last six months).

• Valid Australian Driver's Licence.

• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.

• Administration of Medication Certificate.

• Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety and You'.
