Territory Sales Representative / Account Manager - Mining & Industrial

Take ownership of an established regional territory

Haymans Mount Isa is looking for a commercially driven Territory Account Manager to strengthen existing customer relationships and identify new opportunities across North West Queensland.

This is not a cold start. You will inherit an established customer base and represent a trusted business with strong relationships across mining operations, contractors, industrial businesses and cattle stations.

You will have the autonomy to manage your territory, backed by an experienced internal team that will support you with quoting, sourcing products, processing orders and meeting customer requirements.
 
What you’ll be doing

• Manage and grow an established portfolio of customers.
• Build strong relationships through regular face-to-face visits.
• Identify new contacts and opportunities within existing accounts.
• Develop new business across mining, industrial, trade and rural markets.
• Understand customer operations and recommend practical product solutions.
• Prepare quotes, follow up opportunities and negotiate commercial outcomes.
• Coordinate with internal sales and warehouse teams to deliver responsive service.
• Monitor contractor and mine-site activity to identify upcoming requirements.
• Plan customer visits and manage your territory independently.
• Undertake regular regional travel and occasional planned overnight trips.

The territory extends approximately 400–450 kilometres from Mount Isa and includes areas such as Cloncurry, Julia Creek, cattle stations and selected Northern Territory sites. You will also spend time working alongside the team in the Mount Isa branch.

What we're looking for 

You may already be an Account Manager, Territory Manager, Sales Representative or Business Development Manager. Alternatively, you could be an experienced internal sales, trade counter, parts or product-support professional ready to step into an external position.

To succeed, you will bring:

• Experience building trusted relationships with trade, commercial or industrial customers.
• A proactive approach to growing accounts and identifying new business.
• Confidence visiting customers, asking questions and following up opportunities.
• Commercial awareness and experience working with quotes, pricing or sales targets.
• The ability to learn a broad technical product range.
• Strong organisation and the discipline to manage a large regional territory.
• A collaborative approach when working with internal sales and operational teams.
• A current driver’s licence and willingness to undertake regional travel.
• Unrestricted permanent Australian working rights.
