Transport Compliance and Training Coordinator

Full time. Based at our Minto yard, with occasional travel to our Thirlmere office, and sites.

Mills Haulage is a family-owned transport company based in South West Sydney, specialising in the transport of dangerous goods including LPG and Cryogenic gases. With over 20 years in the industry, we provide safe and reliable bulk gas transport across NSW and interstate.

About the role

This is a newly created role at the heart of how we operate. As we grow, we're bringing all of our compliance into one job: keeping every driver, truck, trailer and record compliant, so an audit on any day is no drama. It's a hands-on role, working closely with our Transport Allocators and senior management, with the full backing of owners who take compliance seriously.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor driver work and rest hours through our electronic work diary and follow up any issues

• Maintain our NHVAS accreditation (Basic Fatigue Management and Mass and Maintenance Management), including quarterly statements and audits

• Keep fleet maintenance compliance on track: services, inspections, registrations, defects and records

• Maintain the expiry register for driver licences, dangerous goods licences, medicals and training

• Support dangerous goods compliance, including approved routes and load documentation

• Look after yard and depot safety: inspections, toolbox talks, PPE and incident follow-up

• Coordinate audits and visits from the NHVR, SafeWork NSW and customers

• Assist with onboarding new drivers and new trucks into our systems

• Prepare a monthly compliance report for senior management

• Train and sign drivers off on products, to ensure safe loading and unloading

About you

• Background in heavy vehicle transport, logistics or fleet operations.

• Solid working knowledge of the Heavy Vehicle National Law and Chain of Responsibility.

• NHVAS accreditation, electronic work diary or dangerous goods experience will be highly regarded.

• Well organised, with the ability to plan ahead and keep registers, renewals and deadlines on track.

• High attention to detail, with accurate record keeping and audit-ready documentation.

• Confident using Microsoft Office and quick to learn new systems.

• A clear communicator, comfortable dealing with drivers, management, auditors and regulators.

• Able to juggle competing priorities in a busy operational environment.

• A current driver's licence.

• A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment would be highly regarded
