Lead Secondary Engineer

Are you ready to shape the future of energy infrastructure? Our client are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Secondary Engineer to join their Transmission & Distribution team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing and delivering innovative, sustainable, and carbon-neutral solutions for substation projects. Your expertise will drive the successful planning, design, and execution of substation infrastructure, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Lead Secondary Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:Designing and delivering advanced Substation Secondary systems for distribution and transmission networks (up to 500kV).Ensuring strict adherence to quality assurance procedures and technical standards.Leading and managing engineering projects within defined scopes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, and primary electrical engineers.Contributing to proposal development, including scope definition and cost estimation.Engaging with regional clients, providing expert technical advice, and supporting business growth.Mentoring and developing junior engineers to enhance team capabilities.
QualificationsOur client are seeking a candidate who brings a wealth of experience and a passion for innovation. To be successful in this role, you will need:A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required).Proven experience in High Voltage Secondary Substation design and project delivery (experience with Transgrid projects is highly desirable).A strong track record of serving as a trusted technical advisor to clients.Demonstrated capability in managing and providing technical leadership to design teams, including Global Delivery Centres.Experience in managing design projects in compliance with quality management systems.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Day-to-DayYour typical day will involve:Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to design and deliver high-quality substation solutions.Leading project meetings and ensuring alignment with client expectations and project timelines.Reviewing and approving technical designs to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.Providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.Engaging with clients to provide technical expertise and support business development initiatives.Monitoring project progress and addressing any challenges to ensure successful delivery.
