The OpportunityThis is a unique opportunity to play a key role in one of the leading US individual and private client tax practices in Australia.You will work closely with a diverse, high-value client base including internationally mobile executives, entrepreneurial founders, family groups, and global mobility programs providing tailored, high-touch advice on complex cross-border matters.Your portfolio will include:Australian executives and founders relocating to the USHigh-net-worth US citizens and families based in AustraliaYou will work directly with clients and Partners, playing a key role in both technical delivery and strategic growth of the practice.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou will:Lead end-to-end US & Australian tax compliance, including review and sign-off of complex individual returnsDrive operational excellence, leveraging technology and AI to improve processes and scalabilityManage and develop a growing team, including onshore and offshore resourcesAct as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering clear, practical guidance on complex cross-border tax issuesBuild strong client relationships, serving as a key point of contactContribute to growth, including client proposals and new business development
What We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for a commercially minded manager who is both technically strong and energised by growth.You will bring:Strong experience in US expatriate / cross-border individual taxA proactive, independent mindset with the confidence to take ownershipA passion for innovation, process improvement, and technology-enabled deliveryExperience working with offshore tax preparation teamsA demonstrated focus on client service and relationship buildingStrong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality outcomesProven experience mentoring and developing staffUS CPA or Enrolled Agent qualificationExperience in both Australian and US tax is highly regarded, but not essential. We welcome international candidates with US expat tax experience, with visa and relocation support available.
