About the RoleThe Head of Motor Claims leads the performance, strategic direction, and regulatory compliance of the motor claims portfolio at Hollard, including loss ratio outcomes. This covers the full claims lifecycle, spanning motor repair, total loss, recoveries, settlements, fraud and investigation, and motor supply chain.
As a senior member of the Operations Leadership Team, this role manages a team of claims specialists to deliver high-quality, consistent outcomes across partner brands, while driving continuous improvement in cost efficiency, supply chain performance, and customer experience.
Partnering closely with Distribution, Product, Pricing, and Finance, the role ensures claims strategy supports broader business objectives and represents claims in executive forums.
Key ResponsibilitiesOverall performance of the Motor Claims Portfolio and results through key performance indicators, including the customer claims experience and satisfaction driving NPS improvements for our Partner brands.Lead the strategic redesign of the end-to-end claims experience, from supply chain through to digital processing and partner integration.Ensure regulatory compliance and risk management across claims handling, including Code of Practice, APRA/ASIC obligations, and fraud prevention.Lead and develop a high-performing claims team, embedding strong risk judgement and a customer-centred approach, including support for vulnerable customers.Manage claims budgets and reserves and provide data-driven insights to inform executive decision-making on product, pricing, and strategy.Shape the future of regulation – not just responding to change but actively influencing and helping define it.
About YouSignificant management experience in general insurance, including demonstrated experience in a senior claims leadership role.Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end motor claims processes within a regulated environment.Significant experience in leading large operational teams (200+ employees).Strong commercial and technical acumen, with the ability to interpret policy, claims, and market data to inform strategic decisions.Experience managing partner or brand relationships within a multi-brand or underwriting environment.Experience in managing large programs of work across multi-disciplinary teams.Track record of leading process, technology, or supply chain improvements at scale.
