Our Perth Hub is one of Newmont’s regional corporate offices for Asia Pacific, serving as the coordination centre for our Australian and Papua New Guinea operations. As a National Disposals Officer, you will play a critical role in maximising value recovery from obsolete and surplus assets across Newmont’s Australian operations. You will own and optimise the end‑to‑end disposal strategy and execution, ensuring assets are assessed, approved and directed through the most commercially advantageous pathway, including resale, auction or scrap.

This role has a strong commercial focus, requiring you to assess asset value, understand market dynamics and drive outcomes that maximise financial return while ensuring compliance with governance requirements. Acting as the national subject matter expert for asset disposals, you will provide guidance to stakeholders and identify opportunities to enhance recovery outcomes across the business.

You will work closely with site‑based teams across multiple operations, travelling regularly to engage with stakeholders, review inventory and support disposal activities on site. Acting as a central point of coordination, you will collaborate across Supply Chain, Asset Management, Warehousing, and both Fixed Plant and Mobile Equipment teams, as well as external partners such as auctioneers, brokers and industry buyers.

This role sits within the Supply Chain function and reports to the Lead, Materials Management and Logistics (Australia). Regular travel to sites in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and New South Wales is required.

• Leading the identification, assessment and disposal of obsolete and surplus assets across multiple sites
• Owning the end‑to‑end disposal process, including registration, approvals, tracking and final asset disposition
• Evaluating assets and determining the most commercially viable disposal pathway to maximise value recovery
• Driving value recovery outcomes through effective market engagement, pricing strategies and disposal channel selection
• Facilitating internal approvals through established governance processes and ensuring compliance with company procedures
• Maintaining accurate records, tracking asset movements and ensuring correct financial allocation to cost centres
• Analysing disposal performance and identifying opportunities to improve recovery rates, reduce write‑offs and optimise processes
• Contributing to a safe, collaborative and high‑performing Supply Chain team environment

• Demonstrated experience in asset disposals, inventory management or materials management within a mining or heavy industry environment
• Strong commercial acumen, with demonstrated experience maximising value from surplus or obsolete assets and making market‑driven disposal decisions
• Understanding of asset valuation methodologies, secondary markets and pricing strategies for used mining equipment and materials
• Proven ability to engage, influence and manage relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, both internal and external
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage governance, approvals and documentation processes in a structured environment
• Experience coordinating activities across multiple sites and managing competing priorities
• Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise systems is desirable
• Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Supply Chain, Business or a related discipline is desirable but not essential
• Practical understanding of mining operations, including Fixed Plant and Mobile Equipment, is highly regarded
