Anglicare
About the role
Do you want a career that means more? At Anglicare Sydney, we bring the strength, support and strategy to make it happen.
We're a well-respected not-for-profit that's been serving society's most vulnerable for 170 years. Each year, we achieve life-changing outcomes for more than 40,000 people through person-centred support.
As our Intake Worker with the Emotional Wellbeing for Older Persons (EWOP) program, you'll be key to our mission to enrich lives and strengthen communities. You'll join a compassionate, respectful and purpose-driven team where our values of integrity, justice, compassion and excellence are lived every day.
As the first point of connection for older people, families and referrers, you will provide intake, triage, referral and administrative support for Anglicare's EWOP service. You will gather initial information, support client onboarding and help people access timely emotional wellbeing and mental health support.
You will also manage a small caseload of clients with low-complexity needs, providing basic case coordination under guidance. Working closely with the Program Manager, Case Workers, Case Managers and Mental Health Practitioners, you will escalate complex or high-risk matters to an experienced practitioner.
With integrity and resilience, you will:
You are a calm, organised and responsive intake practitioner who can build rapport with older people, families and referrers while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries. You listen carefully, communicate clearly and manage competing priorities without compromising accuracy or client care.
You share Anglicare's values of integrity, justice, compassion and excellence and can bring them to your work with clients, colleagues and the multidisciplinary EWOP team.
We provide meaningful opportunities and choice, both for the individuals and communities we support and for the dedicated people who make it happen.
At Anglicare, you'll get the security, stability and opportunities that come with a strong, well-established organisation that's ready for the future. You'll belong to a community of kind, humble and respectful people of all faiths and backgrounds and be supported to deepen your experience and shape a rewarding career.
We're many services, with one purpose: to meet people where they are and walk with them. At Anglicare, we believe everyone is Made for Connection - with God, with each other and with the places we call home. But sometimes life unravels. That's where Community and Mission steps in, offering hope, support and presence.
From food relief to chaplaincy, crisis care to caring for the wellbeing of older people, every moment of connection matters. And it's not just what we do. It's how we do it: side-by-side, with compassion and care.
Click 'Apply' and submit your resume and a cover letter outlining how your experience aligns with this opportunity. All applicants will receive a response.
Anglicare is as wonderfully diverse as the customers and communities we support. While we are guided by our Christian-based values, our team includes people of all faiths and backgrounds who share our commitment to serving others, and we value the diverse perspectives they bring. We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and people of all ages, genders, abilities and cultural backgrounds.
We do not accept unsolicited agency resumes and are not responsible for any fees related to unsolicited resumes.
