Head Chef

We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead and support our kitchen team at The Alby in a Full time capacity.

Our Story 

The Alby is located on the ground floor of the Albemarle building, Woden. The gastropub comprises of dining areas, multiple bars, Chef’s table for private dining, beer garden, games basement with bar and food offering, Duckpin bowling, pinball and pool tables. The venue provides a range of menus from breakfast, all-day dining, takeaway, functions, set lunch/dinners for groups and cocktail parties. Designed by Capezio Copeland and developed by DOMA.

About the role

Naturally, your previous years as a Head Chef, will come highly regarded. As will the following: 

• Ability to work an assigned roster including nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours when required 

• Performance management experience – demonstrated ability to relate, communicate and motivate all junior staff.

• Experience in report preparation- relating to all levels of employment and training requirements 

• Experience working with elevated pubstyle cuisine is a must 

• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure 

• Demonstrated ability with large volume food preparation and service 

• Diploma or higher qualification in commercial cookery 

• Great attention to detail and passion in your field

• First Aid Certificate

• Work, health and safety knowledge (Training is desirable)
