About the Centre

At Moonee Valley YMCA Gymnastics Centre, located at 101 Cooper Street in Essendon, we offer a wide range of gymnastics programs for all ages and abilities. Our programs include sessions for preschool children, school-age participants, adults, and inclusive classes designed for individuals with disabilities. For those seeking more advanced development, our competitive programs provide opportunities to hone skills and participate in competitions through the GymStar program.

Our facility is equipped with essential apparatus such as beams, vaults, parallel bars, uneven bars, and more, ensuring participants can safely learn and progress. We also offer casual gymnastics sessions, adults classes birthday party hosting, and school holiday programs to keep everyone engaged. Fitness classes, including Pilates, are available to complement our gymnastics programs.

We strive to create a fun, supportive environment that encourages participants to build physical skills, confidence, and self-esteem. Conveniently located near Buckley Park and accessible via public transportation, we welcome everyone to explore what we offer and get involved in the community

About the Role

As a Gymnastics Team Leader at Moonee Valley YMCA Gymnastics Centre, you will manage and lead teams of employees in Gymnastics program areas and ensure that the delivery of the programs and services meets agreed standards. You will lead, inspire, and motivate teams through clear and achievable team goals and support high standards of implementation of Policies and Procedures. Gymnastics leaders may assist the Manager by working as part of the Manager on Duty roster, where they provide support to customers and staff across all areas of the facility, and may act as a delegate of the Manager. 

This is a part-time role with potential for additional hours based on business growth in key areas, including birthday parties, school programs, and new class implementation. This is a permanent part-time role with an hourly rate of $33.87 per hour + super + Y Benefits.

About you 

We are seeking a motivated, organised and pro-active Gymnastics Team Leader to come and join the team. You will have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and all facility users.

Essential Qualifications   

• Beginner Coaching Accreditation or Fundamentals of Gymnastics Accreditation with Gymnastics Victoria
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
• HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Hours of Work

20 hours per week (Part-time) Schedule may be adjusted based on business needs and the successful candidate’s availability.

• Monday: 3 PM – 8 PM
• Tuesday: 3 PM – 8 PM
• Thursday: 2 PM – 7 PM
• Saturday: 8 AM – 1 PM
