About the role
Drive meaningful impact in Indigenous leadership and education.Trusted partner to a senior executive in a high profile portfolio.Identified position: This role is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants only, in accordance with Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA).Full-time appointment on an ongoing basis.Base salary range: $99,040 – $104,669 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.
About The Area
The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous) (DVCI) is responsible for leading the Indigenous Portfolio and the development and implementation of Indigenous strategy throughout the University. The Office also provides strategic leadership of the School of Indigenous Studies. The Indigenous Portfolio aspires to lead change for Aboriginal people, develop future leaders and demonstrate leadership in Indigenous knowledges.
The Indigenous Portfolio provides stewardship and works in partnership to deliver the University’s Indigenous Workforce Strategy to improve employment outcomes for Indigenous peoples at UWA. In addition, the Portfolio includes the Berndt Museum, and the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health. Through these entities the Office of the DVCI has responsibility to deliver multi-disciplinary teaching and research programs and provide specialised support and services to current and future Indigenous students.
About The Opportunity
Provide a high level of executive and administrative support, including diary management and travel arrangements for the DVCI and senior Portfolio staff.Plan, implement and coordinate a range of administrative functions for the Indigenous Portfolio.Coordinate agendas and meeting papers including internal communication and follow up on actions arising.
About You
Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent competency.Substantial relevant Executive Assistant and administrative experience at the appropriate level.Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion.Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines.Demonstrated understanding of, and respect for, Indigenous peoples, cultures and communities

Confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage will be required for the successful applicant prior to appointment.
