About the role
The Role
Radiology Victoria (RV) is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis at Epworth Hospital in Waurn Ponds. The role works on a rotating roster within the core hours of 6:00am – 8:30pm Monday – Friday.
The primary function of this role is to provide excellent and professional customer service to patients and referrers. Our services offer a dynamic environment with opportunity to expand your skills and work in an array of zones within the department. Duties include answering incoming calls, arranging bookings for patients, taking payments, and liaising with the hospital to arrange inpatient appointments. The administration team contributes to the overall performance of the department, ensuring consistency with Sonic Healthcare’s core values.
Key selection criteria
Flexibility to pick up a variety of casual shift times
Positive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow.
Ability to work autonomously and in a team setting.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills using phone, email, and face-to-face communication.
Willingness to take initiative and problem-solve.
Desirable
Previous experience in a medical / hospital setting.
Certification in medical terminology / medical administration.
Previous radiology experience.
Experience working with a high volume of incoming calls.

Radiology Victoria (RV) is part of the Sonic Healthcare network, providing high quality imaging services to both Epworth Hospital locations and the wider community.
RV employs approximately 330 highly skilled radiologists and staff, providing angiography, interventional procedures, bone mineral densitometry (BMD), computed tomography, dental X-Ray (OPG), general X-Ray, MRI, 3D & contrast mammography, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound.
