FOGO Facility Supervisor / Plant Operator

Pure Living Soil is seeking a reliable and capable FOGO Facility Supervisor / Plant Operator to take responsibility for the day-to-day operations of our Bridgewater FOGO and resource recovery facility.

This is a permanent Monday to Friday position offering a good mix of site supervision, machinery operation and hands on operational work.

The role would suit an experienced supervisor or plant operator who enjoys being hands on, takes pride in their work and is confident taking ownership of daily site operations.

Working closely with management, you will help ensure the facility operates safely, efficiently and in accordance with site procedures and environmental requirements.

• Supervising and coordinating daily site operations

• Operating mini excavators and other mobile plant and equipment

• Managing incoming and outgoing vehicles

• Coordinating and supporting site employees

• Managing material receival, processing and movement around the facility

• Ensuring WHS procedures and site operating requirements are followed

• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised worksite

• Undertaking routine plant and equipment inspections

• Identifying and reporting maintenance requirements and equipment issues

• Maintaining accurate operational records and basic reporting

• Monitoring material quality and identifying contamination or other issues

• Liaising with management, contractors, drivers and customers

• Supporting staff with safe equipment operation and site procedures

• Communicating operational issues and opportunities for improvement to management

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Demonstrated experience operating mini excavators and similar plant/equipment

• Previous supervisory experience or experience coordinating site operations

• Current driver's licence

• Good mechanical aptitude and practical problem solving skills

• Good communication and organisational skills

• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety

• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and manage day-to-day operational issues

• Experience working safely around trucks, heavy vehicles and mobile plant

Previous experience within FOGO, waste management, resource recovery, recycling, organics, civil works, earthmoving, agriculture or a similar industry is preferred but not essential.

Experience with composting or organic waste processing would be highly regarded; however, training can be provided to the right candidate with strong plant operation and supervisory experience.
