Senior Engineer- Deposition

You will support the Project Manager – Tailings in the delivery of a major greenfield Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) deposition system. You will provide technical leadership and supervision across project phases, ensuring designs are constructible, meet engineering standards and align with operational requirements.

You will drive the development and optimisation of the deposition system from feasibility-level design, considering facility staging, production profiles, quality requirements, construction methodologies, cost and schedule. You will work closely with project, design, operations and contractor teams to deliver key milestones safely and effectively.

This role will initially be based in the Brisbane office on a 5/2 Monday-Friday roster, transitioning to a site-based 14/7 roster from November. The position offers a $230,000 base salary on the 14/7 site arrangement.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead technical delivery of the tailings deposition system
• Develop and manage schedules for design and engineering activities
• Review and obtain approvals for flow sheets, drawings and calculations
• Ensure engineering work meets scope, quality, cost and schedule targets
• Monitor progress and identify potential technical or delivery issues
• Coordinate with project, design, operations and contractor teams
• Provide technical support during construction and project delivery
• Promote strong safety, quality and engineering standards
• Manage and resolve issues, escalating where appropriate
• Support contractor performance through effective relationship management

About you
• Engineering degree or equivalent, ideally in geotechnical or mechanical engineering
• Proven project engineering and management experience
• Strong technical background in tailings, slurry piping and deposition
• Sound understanding of slurry piping and tailings deposition planning
• Experience across construction management and quality control
• Demonstrated safety leadership and commitment to quality
• Strong contractor management and relationship-building capability
• Pragmatic, considered approach to technical decision-making
• Confident communicator who is comfortable raising concerns
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
