Operating from Jandakot, we are seeking casual experienced Trades Assistants to join our team to support our welders and boilermakers for a period of up to six months, with the possibility of further work or permanent employment after that time. The positions offer a minimum of 38 hours per week with regular overtime available and an immediate start for successful candidates.

The role includes but not limited to:

• Grinding and blending different types of welds in various positions

• Assist welders and boilermakers with preparing surfaces

• Assist in the movement of material sections to relevant processing bays

• Operating a range of hand and power tools, drilling machine and overhead cranes

• Assist in general tidiness of the workshop and facilities

• Assist expeditors in preparing materials for dispatch to paint yards or site

The preferred candidate will have the following attributes:

• Previous experience in a structural steel fabrication environment

• High attention to detail and aptitude to carry out a variety of work

• Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team

• A positive attitude, willingness to help, organised, punctual and dependable

• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and work overtime when required
