About the role
OUR STORY
The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people in the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres.
The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.

THE ROLE
PM009 - Artificial Intelligence (AI) Specialist
Full-time, Fixed-Term Contract for 12 months.
KEY FUNCTIONS
The AI Specialist is the Central Land Council’s dedicated expert for governing, integrating, and operationalising artificial intelligence across the organisation. Sitting within the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) and reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, this role is responsible for two interconnected functions:
AI governance and risk management, and technical AI integration and operations. While governance focus, this is a technical role. The role exists to ensure that CLC’s adoption of AI technology is controlled, governed, and strategically implemented protecting the culturally and legally sensitive information CLC holds on behalf of Traditional Owners, while enabling staff to use approved AI tools safely and productively.
REMUNERATION & REMARKABLE BENEFITS
Base Salary Range: Starting from $115,873 p.a. (negotiable classification banding based on skills and experience, subject to CLC EA guidelines and authorised approval).

Total effective package includes: base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, relocation assistance, annual airfare allowance and salary packaging options. Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.
