Description:

The Appian Engineer (Level 3) is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of Appian-based workflow and automation solutions for Novigi clients.

This role plays a key part in reducing reliance on external vendors by building in-house Appian capability. You will contribute to end-to-end delivery of process automation initiatives, including workflow design, system integration, and scalable solution architecture.

The role combines strong technical capability with client-facing delivery, contributing to high-quality outcomes, improved operational efficiency, and reusable solution patterns across engagements.

About the Role:

Works with: Engineers, Technical Leads, Architects, Delivery Leads, Business Analysts, Client Stakeholders

Responsibilities:

• Own technical delivery of Appian solutions, ensuring alignment to client needs, delivery commitments, and commercial outcomes.
• Deliver end-to-end workflow and automation solutions across interface design, process logic, data structures, and system integration.
• Design, build, and deploy scalable Appian applications across workflow, case management, and automation use cases.
• Lead solution and integration design, including process models, SAIL interfaces, data structures (CDTs), and API-based integrations.
• Translate business requirements into effective workflow and automation solutions, optimising process efficiency and user experience.
• Drive engineering quality through code reviews and enforcement of standards across design, performance, scalability, and security.
• Build reusable components and contribute to standardised delivery frameworks across engagements.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and optimise performance across Appian applications and environments.
• Engage with clients to understand processes, run workshops/demos, and provide workflow optimisation recommendations.

Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on Appian capability and solution design.

• Mentor engineers and contribute to internal Appian capability, including knowledge sharing, recruitment, and uplift.
• Contribute to estimation, solution scoping, and support pre-sales activities including demos and proposals.
• Reduce reliance on external vendors by delivering high-quality solutions in-house and building reusable IP.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar
• Appian Certification (e.g., Associate Developer / Senior Developer) preferred
• Proven experience developing solutions on the Appian platform
• Strong understanding of BPM/workflow concepts and automation frameworks
• Experience developing integrations using APIs, web services, or middleware
• Proficiency in Appian design objects, process modelling, and interfaces
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues
• Exposure to enterprise system landscapes (e.g., CRM, ERP, data platforms)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
