HSE Coordinator - Mackay Sugar

Mackay Sugar is looking to onboard a HSE Coordinator to support our operational teams across the business.  Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will be responsible for driving safety and environmental performance, while providing support and advice to the operations team on all facets of health, safety and environment activities. 

To succeed in this role, you will:

You will bring a strong commitment to systems, processes and disciplined work practices, supported by a solid understanding of risk management principles. Your experience will include safety and environmental systems, auditing, injury management, rehabilitation, and incident reporting and investigation. You champion a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace where every person feels valued, supported and empowered to contribute. You demonstrate genuine care for the health, wellbeing and safety of yourself and all colleagues, recognising that a diverse and inclusive team is essential to a strong safety culture.

The following abilities and certifications are all highly regarded:

• A minimum qualification of a Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or similar.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessing (desirable but not essential);
• Five years’ experience in a similar role, involving manufacturing or a large-scale industrial setting.
• ICAM incident investigation experience.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
