GRIFFIN COAL

Griffin Coal is a long established Western Australian coal producer supporting domestic power generation and key industrial customers. We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Perth based Finance team.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will assist in fulfilling company accounting requirements and monitor financial performance.

In this role your duties will include but are not limited to: 

• Co-ordinating finance systems to ensure timely and accurate production of accounts and reports including:

-       monthly management reporting;

-       project and funding specific audited accounts; and

-       end of year accounts.

• Liaison with department managers to provide financial insights that supports business decision making with regular travel to Ewington Mine as required;  

• Monitoring project costs against approved budgets, identifying potential variances and working with site-based teams to take corrective actions;

• Ensuring supplier payments are made in line with agreed terms and conditions; and

• Supporting the annual audit process and developing strategies to address any issues arising from audit.

EXPERIENCE

 The preferred candidate will have:

• A degree qualification in finance, accounting or commerce;

• CA or CPA qualification;

• 2 to 5 years’ experience in a management accounting role;

• Demonstrated experience within the mining / resources sector; and

• Proficiency in Pronto ERP software.

THE LOCATION & LIFESTYLE

 Griffin Coal Mine is an open cut coal mine located near Collie, a town which is located 45 minutes from the coastal city of Bunbury and 2.5 hours from the capital city of Perth, Western Australia. This position is based at our head office in West Perth.
