Management Accountant

Boab Metals Limited is progressing the development of the Sorby Hills Project, located 50 km northeast of Kununurra in the East Kimberley. Sorby Hills is Australia’s largest undeveloped near-surface lead–silver deposit, supported by granted mining leases, EPA approval, and proximity to established infrastructure, including Wyndham Port only 150 km away.

With permitting and infrastructure already in place, Sorby Hills is uniquely positioned for fast-track production.

This is a rare chance to join a project at a genuinely pivotal moment - with approvals and infrastructure already secured, Sorby Hills is moving from development into production, and the finance function is being built now. You'll work closely with the General Manager Finance and project leadership, with real scope to shape systems, processes and ways of working as the company scales, rather than stepping into a role where everything is already set in stone.

We're looking for a Management Accountant to play a critical role in the financial success of the Sorby Hills Project as it advances toward production. Reporting to the General Manager Finance, you'll take ownership of monthly project cost reporting, analytical reviews, variance and cost-to-complete analysis, budgets and forecasts, general ledger reconciliations, and assisting with end of month processes.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, strong personal drive, and a collaborative approach to achieving results, underpinned by integrity and professional respect. The Management Accountant will operate in accordance with company policies and protocols, ensuring all legislative, regulatory, and statutory obligations are met while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and governance.

• Prepare and perform analytical reviews of monthly project cost reports

• Conduct regular cost‑to‑complete analyses to monitor project performance against approved budgets

• Identify and report on cost variances, providing insights and recommendations for corrective action

• Monitor project expenditure, track commitments, and prepare financial forecasts

• Ensure Fixed Asset register is maintained including timely capitalisations and disposals, and appropriate depreciation methods are applied.

• Preparation of budgets and periodic rolling forecasts as required

• Develop and maintain financial models to support business and project decision‑making

• Assist financial accountant with end of month processes and journals

• Tertiary Degree in Accounting or relevant qualifications

• Completed or working towards CA/CPA

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience within the resources sector

• Experience with Pronto is desirable

• Proven experience working with accounting software packages and financial systems
