Maintenance Officer & Bus Driver

Heritage College is seeking a reliable and experienced Maintenance Officer & Bus Driver to join our team. Part-time and casual positions are available for an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

As the Maintenance Officer & Bus Driver, you will be responsible for a broad range of grounds, facilities, maintenance and student transport duties, including:

• Maintaining lawns, gardens, pathways and sports fields.
• Undertaking mowing, edging, trimming, watering, fertilising, weeding and planting.
• Maintaining outdoor furniture, equipment, tools and school grounds.
• Completing general building and facilities maintenance, including carpentry, fixtures, fittings, doors and basic non-licensed plumbing.
• Conducting regular inspections and maintenance of school buildings, facilities and safety equipment.
• Responding to maintenance requests and assisting with refurbishment and maintenance projects.
• Coordinating and working with contractors in accordance with school procedures and OH&S requirements.
• Supporting the Business Manager with longer-term maintenance planning and asset management.
• Assisting with school events, deliveries and the movement of furniture and equipment.
• Maintaining appropriate OH&S records and ensuring work is undertaken safely and in accordance with relevant requirements.
• Responding to campus security alarm activations when required.
• Assisting with student bus transportation when required and appropriately licensed.

Application Requirements:

• Experience and/or qualifications in building, construction, plumbing, electrical, grounds or facilities maintenance.
• Current Light Rigid (LR) or relevant heavy vehicle licence
• Valid Victorian Working with Children Check
• Understanding of VicRoads bus operation requirements.
• Excellent communication skills ? both verbal and written
