Part-Time Senior Accountant - Business Services & Advisory (CA/CPA Qualified)

We're a boutique Tasmanian Accounting Firm located on the Eastern Shore, built around genuine, hands-on client relationships rather than volume compliance work. We pride ourselves on our excellent client service, which is only possible because we genuinely value, support and invest in our team. Our services span advisory, tax compliance, bookkeeping, payroll, and ASIC corporate secretarial work.

The Role

We are looking for an exceptional, driven and hardworking individual to join us on a part-time basis. You will be a CA or CPA qualified accountant with 5+ years' experience in Australian public practice. Whether you're managing other commitments, semi-retired, or simply prefer a lighter week.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and review income tax returns for individuals, trusts, SMSF’s, partnerships, and companies

• Prepare and review BAS/IAS and manage GST compliance

• Prepare, review and advise on financial statements and management reports

• Liaise directly with clients on tax and compliance matters

• Liaise directly with the ATO on various matters

• Support ASIC corporate secretarial obligations as needed

• Contribute to advisory conversations where your experience adds value

• Assist with team mentoring

What We're Looking For

• A drive to provide an exceptional service to our clients

• Strong attention to detail, producing high-quality output

• Strong technical tax and accounting knowledge

• Comfortable working directly with clients, not just behind the scenes

• Confident using cloud accounting software (predominantly Xero)

• Self-directed and comfortable managing a portfolio with a degree of autonomy

• Strong self-management skills, with a track record of meeting deadlines independently

• Genuinely wants a part-time role — not a full-time role in disguise
