FULLY REMOTE ACCOUNTANT - PART-TIME   (JOB ID 1932) 

• Xero-based accounting firm

This boutique accounting firm provides accounting, taxation and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of small and medium-sized businesses. With a strong focus on building long-term client relationships, the firm delivers tailored advice that helps businesses grow and succeed. 

As the firm continues to expand, an opportunity has become available for a Part-Time Tax & Business Services Accountant to join the team. Working fully remotely 3 days per week, this role offers genuine flexibility and is ideal for professionals seeking a better work-life balance while continuing to build their career in public practice. 

The Role: 

As a Tax & Business Services Accountant, you will work with a portfolio of business clients, providing quality taxation and business advisory services while collaborating with an experienced and supportive team. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals 

• Preparing and reviewing BAS, IAS and other compliance obligations  

• Assisting with tax planning and identifying tax-effective opportunities for clients 

• Working alongside the Principal to support business advisory and Virtual CFO engagements 

• Liaising directly with clients and providing proactive advice and exceptional service 

• Ensuring compliance with ATO lodgement deadlines and legislative requirements 

• Maintaining strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation legislation 

• Using Xero and other practice management software to deliver efficient client outcomes 

About You: 

We're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships with clients and takes pride in delivering quality work. 

You'll ideally have: 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting 

• CA or CPA qualified or currently working towards completion.  

• Minimum 2-4 years' experience in Australian Public Practice within Business Services and Tax 

• Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns across multiple entity types 

• Sound knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and compliance requirements 

• Strong experience using Xero and confidence working with cloud-based accounting systems 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload 

• A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
