Occupational Therapy Team Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Occupational Therapy Team Leader to join our Newcastle team. This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical practice with team leadership, supporting a diverse paediatric caseload while mentoring and developing our Occupational Therapy team. You will work closely with OTs, families and our multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, evidence-based and client-centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the day-to-day operations of the OT team, including caseloads, scheduling and service delivery.

• Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, coaching and professional development to OTs.

• Support complex case management and clinical decision-making.

• Collaborate with psychologists, behavioural support practitioners and other allied health professionals.

• Monitor clinical quality, documentation, compliance and professional standards.

• Promote evidence-based practice, continuous improvement and innovative approaches to care.

• Support positive team culture, communication, performance and conflict resolution.

• Liaise with clients, families and external stakeholders to coordinate care.

• Work closely with the Director on team performance, service development, resources and strategic goals.

• Maintain a clinical caseload as required, ensuring leadership remains connected to frontline practice.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.

• Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.

• Demonstrated clinical experience, ideally within paediatric practice.

• Experience supporting, mentoring or supervising other clinicians.

• Strong communication, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Sound knowledge of NDIS, WHS, privacy and relevant Australian legislation.

• A commitment to evidence-based, client-centred and holistic care.

• Current National Criminal History Check.

• Working With Children Check.
