About the role
BLCAC is an Aboriginal organisation committed to strengthening our Aboriginal workforce and supporting self-determination through employment.
This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identified Position designated under Special Measures in accordance with Section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic). Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation (BLCAC) is the Registered Aboriginal Party (RAP) representing the Bunurong people of the South-Eastern Kulin Nation.
We advocate for the protection of Bunurong cultural heritage, the care of Country, and the wellbeing of our community and workforce across Greater Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula and the Bass Coast. Our work is grounded in culture, respect and strong governance.
BLCAC is seeking a motivated and community-focused Treaty Coordinator to support Bunurong participation in the Victorian Treaty process.
Reporting to the Deputy CEO, this role supports BLCAC's Treaty readiness by coordinating community engagement activities, maintaining project documentation and records, supporting stakeholder relationships, and assisting with the delivery of Treaty-related projects and initiatives.
Working closely with Bunurong members, community, Traditional Owners and key external stakeholders, you will help coordinate engagement activities, support organisational readiness and contribute to initiatives that strengthen self-determination and support Bunurong participation in Victoria's Treaty process.
Previous Treaty experience is not essential. We are seeking someone with strong project coordination, community engagement and relationship-building skills who is committed to Aboriginal self-determination and supporting positive outcomes for Bunurong people.
