About the role
We are on the hunt for a HR, Payroll, Compliance & Return to Work Coordinator to take full responsibility for delivering efficient and compliant human resources, payroll and workplace compliance services across the group.
You will ensure the business meets its legislative obligations under employment, payroll, workplace health and safety and workers compensation legislation while supporting managers and employees throughout the employment lifecycle.
You will also act as the nominated Return to Work Coordinator, facilitating the effective management of workers compensation claims and injury management programs to achieve safe, timely and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
The role works collaboratively with management to promote best practice people management, legislative compliance, employee wellbeing and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key ResponsibilitiesHuman ResourcesCoordinate end-to-end recruitment activities including advertising, screening, interview scheduling, reference checks and onboarding.Prepare employment contracts, position descriptions, variation letters and HR correspondence.Coordinate employee onboarding, induction and probation processes.Maintain confidential employee records and HR information systems.Coordinate performance review processes.Assist managers with employee relations matters including performance management, disciplinary processes and investigations.Provide advice to managers and employees regarding HR policies and procedures.Coordinate employee engagement initiatives.Maintain organisational charts and workforce records.Ensure HR documentation remains current and compliant.
Payroll Coordinate the processing of payroll accurately and within legislative timeframes.Ensure payroll complies with applicable Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and the Fair Work Act.Process new employees, terminations, payroll variations and leave.Maintain employee leave balances.Coordinate superannuation contributions.Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations.Coordinate payroll tax and workers compensation wage declarations.Respond to payroll enquiries.
ComplianceEnsure compliance with the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, Modern Awards and applicable legislation.Develop, review and maintain HR policies and procedures.Monitor legislative changes affecting employment and payroll.Maintain compliance registers.Coordinate mandatory training and licence renewals.Maintain document control systems.Assist with internal and external audits.Ensure employment records comply with legislative requirements.
Return to Work & Injury ManagementAct as the organisation's nominated Return to Work Coordinator.Coordinate all workers compensation claims from notification through to claim closure.Liaise with workers compensation insurers, rehabilitation providers and treating practitioners.Develop, implement and monitor Return to Work Plans.Coordinate suitable duties programs.Monitor medical certificates and work capacity.Ensure compliance with workers compensation legislation and insurer requirements.Maintain confidential injury management records.Coordinate case conferences where required.Identify barriers to return to work and implement strategies to facilitate safe and sustainable outcomes.Educate managers regarding injury management obligations.Monitor claim progress and recommend early intervention strategies.
Workplace Health & SafetySupport implementation of the organisation's WHS Management System.Coordinate incident reporting and investigations.Assist with risk assessments.Maintain WHS documentation.Coordinate health and safety training records.Participate in safety meetings.Promote injury prevention initiatives.
AdministrationMaintain confidential filing systems.Coordinate HR projects.Support continuous improvement initiatives.Assist with workforce planning.Undertake general administrative duties as required.
