Aboriginal Female FDSV Case Manager

About the role

Gawura Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an experienced, community dedicated and compassionate Aboriginal Female FDSV Case Manager to provide support and services to Aboriginal women and families affected by family and domestic violence. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to provide crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and support to Aboriginal women and families affected by family and domestic violence
• Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans with clients
• Provide case management and advocacy services to access relevant support services
• Collaborate with other service providers to ensure a coordinated response to client needs
• Develop and implement programs and services to promote healthy relationships and prevent family and domestic violence
• Work closely with Aboriginal community members and organisations to promote the service and build trust

About you

• Confirmation of Aboriginality - section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 in NSW or section 8(1) of the federal Racial Discrimination Act 1975
• Strong understanding of how an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation operates to support the local community
• 5 years of experience working in a similar role, preferably in a family and domestic violence setting
• Diploma or Certificate or relevant experience in a similar field
• Strong understanding of the complexities of family and domestic violence and its impact on Aboriginal women and families
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks effectively
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with Aboriginal clients and communities
• Valid NSW Driver's License
• Current Employment WWCC, Current National Criminal History Check, Current driver history check – upon request
