GPS EXCAVATOR OPERATOR

About the role

WEIER GROUP PTY LTD is seeking a skilled GPS Excavator Operator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with modern construction equipment in the North Brisbane to Sunshine Coast, Queensland area. As a GPS Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating GPS-guided excavation equipment to precise specifications on construction and earthmoving projects. This role is essential to ensuring our projects are completed to the highest standards of accuracy and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Operate GPS-guided excavators with precision to perform earthmoving, grading, and excavation tasks according to project specifications

• Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure all machinery is in safe working order before commencing work

• Communicate effectively with site supervisors, engineers, and other team members to ensure project requirements are met

• Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols

What we're looking for

• Current and valid Heavy Equipment Operator License (or equivalent qualification) for excavator operations

• Proven experience operating GPS-guided excavation equipment on construction or earthmoving projects

• Demonstrated competency in interpreting GPS guidance systems and precision grading techniques

• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements in the construction and earthmoving industries

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, site plans, and grading specifications

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a construction team

• Reliability and flexibility to work on a casual basis as required

• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills for equipment maintenance

• Preferred: Experience with various excavator attachments and versatile earthmoving applications
