About us

No to Violence is Australia’s peak body for individuals and organisations that work with men that use violence. We provide training, sector development and advocacy across the sector. We operate the Men’s Referral Service, providing a counselling service and referral pathways directly to men who use violence. As a pro-feminist organisation, women and children are at the centre of what we do - by ending men’s use of family violence, families, individuals, and communities are safer.

About the role

Role Type: Permanent, Part-time (0.8 FTE/4 days per week)

Classification: SCHADS Level 6

Location: Hybrid

As a National Family Violence Trainer, you'll deliver high-quality, engaging training to a diverse range of professionals and organisations across Australia. You'll help build workforce capability by making complex family violence concepts accessible, practical and relevant to participants' work.

You'll deliver NTV's accredited, non-accredited and customised training programs, including the MARAM Adults Using Family Violence Tools and 5 Essential Discussion Tools. You'll also contribute to reviewing and improving existing programs and developing new training packages and resources.

The role involves both online and face-to-face delivery, with travel required from time to time. You'll work closely with other trainers and NTV colleagues to share knowledge, respond to participant feedback and continually improve the quality of our training.

About you

You're an experienced family violence practitioner and trainer who can engage diverse audiences, communicate complex ideas clearly and create learning environments where people can ask questions, challenge their thinking and apply what they've learned.

To be successful, you'll have:

• Experience delivering family violence training or professional development.
• Strong understanding of working with adults who use family violence.
• Strong presentation, communication and group facilitation skills.
• Understanding of adult learning principles and engaging challenging material.
• Experience working in the specialist family violence sector.
• An understanding of the gendered nature of family violence and a commitment to strengthening the specialist men's family violence sector.
