About the role:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Advising on research, collaboration, funding and commercialisation agreements.
• Providing practical legal advice across a broad range of commercial and research matters.
• Managing commercial and research-related disputes and proceedings.
• Engaging and overseeing external legal providers on complex matters.
• Identifying and managing legal, operational and reputational risk.
• Supporting compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and internal policies.
• Developing legal precedents, templates and resources for internal stakeholders.
• Delivering training and guidance on legal obligations and risk.

The ideal candidate:

• At least 7 years’ PQE
• Demonstrated expertise across commercial contracts and advisory matters.
• Experience in intellectual property, research contracts or commercialisation matters, which would be highly regarded.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and legal risk identification skills.
• The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and manage competing priorities.
• Confidence advising senior executives and working with a broad range of internal stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
