Accounts Assistant, Part Time

Our finance team is seeking a part-time Accounts Assistant to support daily accounting work, including maintaining efficient accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting and administrative processes to ensure the smooth operation of the finance function.

This is a part-time office-based position, estimated at 15-20 hours per week, with flexible days and hours based on the business needs and the candidate’s availability. The position will also provide cover for finance team members during periods of leave.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices accurately and promptly

• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies

• Assist with payment runs

• Send remittance advice to suppliers and respond to supplier enquiries

• Update customer electronic payments and reconcile daily bank transactions

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records

• Assist with broader accounting tasks as required

• Provide general finance and administrative support as requested by management

Preferred qualifications and experience

Accounting or business qualification and/or previous experience in Accounts Payable, Bookkeeper or similar role

• Well organised with good communication skills in English

• Flexible team player who is willing to assist and provide backup support

• Experience working in manufacturing, engineering or inventory would be an advantage

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) or Business Central is preferred but not essential

• As a condition of employment, this role requires a police check
