ICT Support Officer | Service Desk & Microsoft

We are seeking an experienced ICT Support Officer to provide frontline technical support across hardware, software, networks, user accounts and devices within a Microsoft on-premises and cloud environment.

This is a full-time, 100% onsite role based in Barton, ACT, supporting a government environment.

Location: Barton, ACT
Work Arrangement: Full-time onsite – 100% office based
Contract Duration: 3 months + 3-month extension option
Security Clearance: Current Baseline clearance minimum
Closing Date: Monday, 31 August 2026 at 11:59pm Canberra time

About the Role

You will be responsible for providing responsive ICT support to users, troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring incidents and service requests are resolved efficiently and within agreed service levels.

You will also contribute to ICT projects, system upgrades, technology rollouts, testing and ongoing security and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide frontline ICT support across hardware, software, network, account and device issues.

· Triage, troubleshoot, resolve and escalate incidents and service requests in accordance with service levels.

· Administer user accounts, systems, devices, software and ICT asset records.

· Support ICT projects, system upgrades, testing and technology rollouts.

· Assist with cyber security controls, patching and other ICT maintenance activities.

· Work closely with users and stakeholders to identify issues and deliver practical solutions.

Key Selection Criteria

· Demonstrated ICT support experience within an Australian Government or Commonwealth environment.

· Strong troubleshooting skills across Microsoft on-premises and cloud environments.

· Ability to analyse technical issues, identify risks and implement practical solutions.

· Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

· Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a busy ICT support environment.

· Current Baseline Security Clearance or higher.
