Catering Distribution Supervisor

St John of God Berwick Hospital has a total of 202 beds, 8 operating theatres, a cardiac/vascular laboratory and six birthing suites. The hospital provides a wide range of services caring for inpatients, outpatients and day patients across a range of specialties including cardiology, maternity, medical and surgical, offering state of the art equipment and facilities to our rapidly growing community. The hospital has a 16-bed Critical Care Unit with 6 Intensive Care beds and 10 Cardiac/HDU beds. Our aim is to deliver the very best in health care at our Berwick Hospital.

About the role

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Catering Distribution Supervisor to join our Catering Services team on a permanent full-time basis. Working closely with the Executive Chef, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient meal services, ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This position offers the opportunity to lead a dedicated team while contributing to a positive dining experience for patients across the hospital.

In this leadership role, you will oversee daily catering distribution operations, including staff supervision, rostering, and resource allocation. You will ensure catering activities are coordinated effectively, with a focus on the timely preparation, delivery, and service of meals. The successful candidate will bring strong organisational and people management skills, a commitment to excellent customer service, and the flexibility to support a dynamic healthcare environment.

Your skills and experience

You will have completed Basic and Advanced Food Handling qualifications to meet Food Safety Supervisor requirements and possess a strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards. You will also demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate a team, ensuring the delivery of efficient, high-quality catering services and an exceptional customer experience.

We can offer you

• Salary: $82,058 to $85,543 (pro rata for part time) plus 12% Superannuation

• Permanent full-time, working 38 hours per week
