About the role

Roscos Trade Mate Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Automotive Spray Painter to join our team in Bibra Lake, Western Australia. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality spray painting services to our clients. As an Automotive Spray Painter, you will be responsible for preparing, masking, and spray painting Aluminium canopies and accessories.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles and automotive components for spray painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling surfaces to achieve a smooth, even base

• Apply primers, base coats, and clear coats using spray equipment, ensuring even coverage and professional finish

• Mix paint colours accurately and adjust spray equipment settings to achieve the desired colour match and texture

• Mask and protect areas of vehicles not requiring paint using masking tape, paper, and protective materials

• Inspect finished work for quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications before handover to clients

• Maintain spray equipment in good working order, including cleaning, servicing, and reporting any maintenance issues

• Follow all health and safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of chemicals

• Document work completed and maintain accurate records of materials used and time spent on each project

What we're looking for

• Formal qualification or certification in automotive spray painting or equivalent trade experience

• Minimum of 3-5 years' proven experience as an Automotive Spray Painter in a professional automotive workshop or trade environment

• Strong knowledge of spray painting techniques, materials, and equipment used in the automotive industry

• Colour matching ability and eye for detail to ensure high-quality finishes

• Proficiency in health and safety practices, including chemical handling and personal protective equipment protocols

• Physical capability to work in varied positions and handle equipment and materials safely

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Reliability and punctuality, with a commitment to meeting project deadlines

• Knowledge of automotive refinishing products and modern spray painting equipment

• Experience with panel beating or body shop operations is highly desirable
