Head of Student Data and Growth - Commencing Term 1, 2027

This unique leadership opportunity will play a pivotal role in shaping how we use data to improve student achievement, wellbeing and growth across Years 5 to 12. Working closely with our College Leadership Team, you will lead the analysis and interpretation of key student data, support staff in evidence-informed decision-making and help drive strategic school improvement initiatives.

The successful applicant will be an accomplished educator and leader who is passionate about student success, continuous improvement and empowering others through the purposeful use of data.

This position is a 2-year (2-point) Promotional Appointment (2027 - 2028) + full time permanent teaching position and attracts up to 0.6 FTE time release.

As part of our commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, the Head of Student Data and Growth will provide strategic leadership in the collection, analysis, interpretation and application of student data across the College.

Working collaboratively with our College Leadership Team, Heads of Department and teaching staff, you will transform data into meaningful insights that improve learning, teaching and wellbeing outcomes. You will support our teachers to use evidence effectively within their practice, lead professional learning conversations focused on student achievement and growth, and help evaluate initiatives designed to maximise student success.

Drawing on a range of data sources, including NAPLAN, HSC, AAS, PAT, PSAM, GPA, Student Attribute Average (SAA) and wellbeing measures, you will identify trends, monitor growth, evaluate intervention programs and provide evidence-based recommendations that support College priorities.

The successful applicant will maintain a teaching allocation and demonstrate excellence as a classroom practitioner. You will be a collaborative and innovative educator who can combine strategic thinking, analytical expertise and educational leadership to make a measurable impact on student outcomes.

Essential Criteria

• A working understanding of, and commitment to, the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.
• Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.
• Qualified Primary or Secondary Teacher (note subject/s you are qualified to teach) with NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW.
• Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner.
• Leadership experience in learning, curriculum, assessment or school improvement initiatives.
• Proven experience in analysing and interpreting educational data to improve student outcomes.
• Strong understanding of student achievement measures, growth data and evidence-informed practice.
• Demonstrated ability to lead professional learning and build staff capacity.
• Highly developed analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents and the wider College community.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in education.
