About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cook to join the team at Greenbushes Roadhouse on a contract basis. Based in Greenbushes, WA 6254, this role is fundamental to delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals to the highest standards whilst maintaining food safety and quality throughout service. This position offers the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a dynamic hospitality environment where your contribution directly impacts guest satisfaction and the reputation of our establishment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and presentation standards

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, cooking stations and equipment

• Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations and food handling standards

• Manage food portions and plating to maintain consistency and quality across all dishes

• Collaborate with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure efficient service during peak periods

• Monitor stock levels and communicate requirements to management for food and kitchen supplies

• Follow menu specifications and respond to special dietary requirements where applicable

• Maintain proper storage and rotation of ingredients to prevent waste

• Support the kitchen team in maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar kitchen role within a hospitality or food service environment

• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and kitchen safety practices

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Good teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff

• Basic numeracy skills for portion control and stock management

• Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and public holidays as required

• Current food handling certificate or willingness to obtain one

• Knowledge of allergen management and dietary requirements is advantageous
