Senior Chef — Busy Café Kitchen & Catering Division

LADLE + PRESS is expanding, and we are looking for a passionate, organised Senior Chef to lead our busy café kitchen and help grow our catering division.

The Opportunity

This is a full-time role suited to an experienced chef who can confidently run day-to-day kitchen operations, support café production, and oversee catering orders for local office clients and customers.

About the Role

· Run and manage a busy café kitchen with confidence, consistency, and calm organisation.

· Prepare food in advance for shop customers and local office catering clients.

· Focus on high-quality recipe preparation, with no plated service required.

· Manage catering orders, kitchen workflow, preparation schedules, and food standards.

· Work with a health-conscious approach, ensuring food is clearly labelled for dietary needs including Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegan, Vegetarian, Plant-Based, and No Processed Sugar.

· Maintain strong food safety, cleanliness, stock control, and presentation standards.

About You

· You are an experienced Senior Chef with a genuine passion for fresh, wholesome food.

· You are confident leading a busy kitchen and managing catering orders from start to finish.

· You are creative, reliable, organised, and excited to be part of a growing food business.

· You enjoy working with seasonal, high-quality ingredients and developing healthy, imaginative menu items.

· You communicate well, contribute ideas, and work positively with a small team.

Requirements

· Relevant experience in a senior chef or similar kitchen leadership role.

· Availability for flexible full-time hours, primarily mornings and lunchtimes.

· Strong understanding of food preparation, dietary requirements, food safety, and kitchen organisation.

· Australian working rights appropriate for a full-time role.
