Trade Assistant (Restorations)

Initial Response provides professional restoration services primarily to the insurance industry 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

About the role: 

Looking to get started in the building and construction industry? Or are you a tradie wanting a change and a career with growth potential? Join our team as a Trade Assistant and gain Restorations experience while making a difference in the Townsville weather recovery efforts. This is a full time role.

Duties include:

• Perform emergency “make safe” works to mitigate further damage on initial attendance at site 

• Responding to water and mould damage emergencies to both commercial and residential properties

• Water extraction and mould remediation / structural drying

• Usage of specialised restoration equipment

• WHS standards related to industry

• Heavy lifting

• Willing to work as part of a team and independently

What we’re looking for: 

• Construction experience or a trade background is preferred but not essential

• C-Class Drivers Licence and white card

• Willingness to travel, respond to after-hours call-outs and weekend work where required

• Exceptional customer service skills

• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as, autonomously with little supervision

• Proven time-management skills with the ability to remain calm and work well under pressure

• Ability to travel within North QLD and Far North QLD
