Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner - Townsville

Centacare North Queensland is seeking an experienced Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner to join our Family Relationship Centre in Townsville.

This is a meaningful, practice-focused role supporting families navigating parenting arrangements, care arrangements, property matters and separation decision making — always prioritising the best interests of children and young people.

Your Impact

You will:

• Conduct client intake, risk and needs assessments
• Facilitate family dispute resolution and mediation processes
• Support parents to develop practical, child-focused parenting arrangements
• Apply child-inclusive and culturally responsive practice frameworks
• Ensure compliance with the Family Law Act and FDRP Regulations
• Maintain professional standards and FDR accreditation
• Engage with community and sector stakeholders
• Contribute to a collaborative, best-practice team culture

What you bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Law, or FDR/Mediation
• Accreditation (or eligibility) as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner
• Experience in child-focused dispute resolution practice
• Strong understanding of legislative and professional obligations
• High-level communication and assessment skills
• A commitment to ethical, culturally safe service delivery
