Southern Steel QLD is Queensland’s leading steel supplier and processor, operating across five locations statewide. Our Mackay branch is seeking a motivated Internal Salesperson to join our friendly and dynamic team.

The Role

You’ll be the face and voice of SQS in Mackay, working with customers and internal teams to deliver exceptional service and support major projects.

What you’ll do:

• Manage and grow relationships with account customers

• Handle phone and email sales enquiries

• Prepare accurate quotes and follow up on orders

• Support customers through the full sales process

• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth delivery

• Contribute to key construction and infrastructure projects

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience in sales, customer service, or account management is highly preferred

• Experience within the steel or manufacturing industry would be highly regarded

• Ability to read and interpret basic drawings is preferred

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

• A positive, proactive attitude and strong work ethic
