Team Leader, Regulated Services

About the role: 

The Team Leader, Regulated Services (Assisted Reproductive Treatment (ART), Child Safe Standards (CSS) and Human Tissue (HT), leads a team of compliance staff responsible for regulating sensitive and high-profile areas within the Health Regulator's portfolio. The Team Leader provides expert regulatory advice, oversees risk-based compliance, enforcement and investigative activities, and supports complex regulatory decision-making to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and standards.

About you:

• Provides leadership, coaching and technical guidance to team members, supports continuous improvement in regulatory practice, and contributes to briefing senior executives and the Minister for Health on complex and often sensitive regulatory matters.
• Demonstrated experience in regulatory work, preferably related to registration, compliance, field investigations, gathering of admissible evidence and permitting functions as well as knowledge of relevant government legislation.

Qualification(s):

• Certificate IV in Government Investigations.
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g. public health, regulation, law) or an Ahpra registered health professional, or other relevant science qualification would be highly regarded.
• Current Victorian driver's licence.

Specialist Expertise:

• Specialist knowledge of assisted reproductive treatment including clinical/scientific expertise would be advantageous.

Additional Requirements:

This role may include:

• Period of out-of-business hours work (e.g. weeknights and weekends); and
• Travel to regional or remote areas.
